Notify the office if excessive swelling or soreness occurs. Normal swelling after surgery may make it difficult for your clothes to fit. Be patient, this swelling is temporary and you will be back to normal in a few weeks. |

Report any changes you may notice or any concerns you may have about your reconstructed breast to our office. |

Do not sleep on you abdomen. |

You may shower three days after surgery (no bath tub). |
 |

Limit your activities for the first 3 weeks after surgery. |
 |

Please arrange for someone to be with you for the first few days after you go home from the hospital. |

Drain instructions: when you leave the hospital you will have 2 or possibly 3 drains. It is important to empty the drains three to four times daily and accurately record their output. Please bring this record when you come for your next visit. The total daily drainage output will determine when your drains are removed. |

You need to wear a bra and an abdominal binder. These may be removed for bathing.
